Tree Portraits - A Celebration of Beautiful & majestic trees from around Wales
Inspired by the efforts being made post COP26 to stop deforestation and the Welsh Government’s inspirational National Forest for Wales project, I wish to translate my own love of trees into an iconic exhibition featuring landmark trees throughout Wales.
Through this exhibition I want to highlight the power mature trees have to inspire us, and their power to heal and create well-being.
In order to create the paintings and put on the touring Exhibition I need to raise £30,000
I’m currently applying for a grant from the Arts Council for £10,000 so I’m looking to raise £20,000 through crowdfunding and I've already raised over £2000.

Working from life is an exciting way to paint, you have to react to changing light and weather, rather than a snapshot of a moment it's a diary of the scene over a few hours or days in a longer session. It's a great way to study nature and find colours and moods you can't get from a photograph.
